History and Significance of the MSU Banner

The MSU Banner's roots trace back to the early 20th century when the university was founded. It was first unfurled at a campus rally, quickly becoming a visible symbol of the new institution's spirit and aspiring goals.

Over time, the banner has evolved in design, but its core remains constant - a testament to the enduring values and traditions of MSU.

The Bulldog Logo: Spirit and Strength

The centerpiece of the MSU Banner is the iconic Bulldog logo, chosen to represent the university's spirit and determination. Bulldogs are renowned for their tenacity and drive, values that MSU fosters in its students.

This logo is more than just a mascot; it's a daily reminder for the Bulldog community to embody these qualities in academic pursuits and extracurricular activities.

The Colors: Unity and Pride

Gold signifies wisdom and success, reflecting the university's commitment to academic excellence. The blue conveys a sense of loyalty and trust, mirroring the strong bond shared by MSU students, faculty, and alumni.

MSU Banner in Campus Life

The MSU Banner isn't merely a decor piece hung in the closet when not in use. Its presence is felt throughout the campus, woven into the fabric of Bulldog life.

It waves atop the iconic Brackett Tower, welcoming students and visitors as they arrive. It's carried at athletic events, where it fuels fan excitement and enthusiasm.

A Symbol of athletic Pride

The MSU Banner is a familiar sight at Bulldog athletic events, from football games at Newsom Stadium to basketball games at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. It embodies the passion, energy, and school spirit of MSU supporters.

When the Bulldog teams take the field, the banner stands as a proclamation - a rallying cry for victory and a statement of unyielding Bulldog pride.

A Beacon of School Spirit

The MSU Banner isn't confined to sports events. It leads the way at university parades, appearances, and other solemn occasions. It was there when MSU celebrated its centennial, marking a hundred years of academic excellence and Bulldog spirit.

From daily class walk-ins to commencement ceremonies, the MSU Banner serves as a constant reminder of what it means to be a Bulldog - to stand united, strive for excellence, and embrace the power of community.
